United Farm Workers Celebration
Animation

A series of animated illustrations for Design Spectrum, an AIGA Diversity initiative founded by my college teacher and mentor Julio Mártinez.

I was asked to contribute to a collection of art pieces commemorating the United Farm Workers movement in celebration of César Chávez Day. I chose to illustrate portraits of the major players in the farm workers movement: César Chávez, Dolores Huerta, and Larry Itliong. I chose the color and styling of the iconic UFW flag.

The final main mark and supplementary stamp illustrations were hand-painted to give the brand a bespoke touch.
The last piece I did was more of a story, or better, an attempt to capture what the movement was really about. I made a connection between the people who tirelessly work the fields and the food we take for granted. No workers, no food.
