Mission Boricua
Brand Identity

This project was in conjunction with La Cocina, a San Francisco incubator that helps minority-owned restaurant owners start up their businesses. Mission Boricua is a business started by Rosie Ortiz, specializing in Puerto Rican comfort foods.

The identity was formed from the flavors of Puerto Rican culture mixed in with Rosie's emphatic spirit. The final result revolved around a lively star, its forms referencing the Puerto Rican flag and the painted murals of the Mission District.

The Mission Boricua Food Truck:
In 2019, Rosie was raising funds to renovate a food truck to take Mission Boricua on the road. My creative partner, Chris Decker, and I volunteered to design various options for the truck wrap, a project that was too fun to resist.
We measured the truck in person and recreated a scale model in 3D to understand how our design wrapped around the food truck.
